Winter jackets on a LitBuy sheet: why bulk costs more than weight, with euro examples

Checked and updated .

Short answer: A jacket row on a LitBuy sheet is billed on the larger of actual and volumetric weight, so a light windbreaker that packs to 35 × 25 × 18 cm is charged as about 1.97 kg on an 8,000 divisor line. On LitBuy's estimator, 2,000 g to Germany was €38.75 against €16.81 for 500 g on 19 October 2026. LitBuy publishes no vacuum service; its ¥20 rehearsal parcel shows the real number.

Jacket rows to size up by box, not by label

These product photos come from repbuysheet.com, which has 10,000+ products to choose from. Each card adds LitBuy's 19 October 1 kg list price for its cheapest tax-free line to Germany (€24.12) to the item price, so you see a rough landed figure before you open the link. Why jacket rows cost more than they weigh

A winter jacket is mostly air. LitBuy's help centre defines chargeable weight as whichever is higher, scale weight or volumetric weight, the latter being length × width × height in centimetres divided by a divisor that varies by line. On most tax-free LitBuy lines to Germany, France, the US and the UK that divisor is 8,000. The EMS, ETK and EUB routes plus a few USPS and DPD routes use 6,000, and one UPS route uses 5,000. A fluffy coat that weighs 0.9 kg can therefore be billed like a 4 kg parcel.

That single rule changes how you read a sheet. A row marked "puffer, ¥239" tells you the price, not the freight. If you are still choosing rows, the LitBuy spreadsheet overview covers the basics; this page covers what is different for bulky winter pieces. The LitBuy shipping cost page has the full quote tables.

Bulk, not grams, decides the jacket freight bill.

Volumetric weight by jacket type

We have no measured jacket dimensions, because LitBuy and the sheets do not publish them. The table uses assumed packed boxes to show how fast volume grows; replace them with the numbers from your own rehearsal parcel. Every box is inside the 60 × 50 × 40 cm limit of LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, so size limits would not block them, but weight would.

Assumed packed sizes and volumetric weight (assumed for this example)
Row typeAssumed box (cm)Volume (cm³)÷ 8,000÷ 6,000
Windbreaker35 × 25 × 1815,7501.97 kg2.63 kg
Light puffer40 × 30 × 2024,0003.00 kg4.00 kg
Heavy puffer45 × 35 × 2031,5003.94 kg5.25 kg
Padded coat50 × 40 × 2550,0006.25 kg8.33 kg

The first row is 35 × 25 × 18 = 15,750 cm³, which is 1.97 kg at 8,000 and 2.63 kg at 6,000. The last row passes 6 kg. LitBuy's help also warns that parcels over 10 kg are more likely to be treated as commercial, so a few padded coats in one box can approach that line. We only ran its estimator to 2,000 g, so for anything above that, use the estimator or the shipping calculator with the exact weight.

Any jacket box above 16,000 cm³ is billed above 2 kg on an 8,000 line.

Vacuum, compression and packing: what LitBuy actually publishes

Buyers often ask for "vacuum packing" as the fix. LitBuy does not publish a vacuum or compression service in its help centre or interface text, and we will not invent one. What it does list: a Packing & Reinforcement service, shown in the interface at about ¥10 per item plus material fees, where materials were advertised as free for a limited period; a service that removes the original packaging, with a warning that the item then counts as incomplete and no published price; and the standard repacking of items into LitBuy self-sealing bags on arrival. The interface also warns that extra packaging may increase package weight and shipping costs.

Compression cuts the box, not the jacket. If you want it, raise a support ticket asking if the warehouse can do it for your item and at what price. Do not assume a yes. For comparison only: KakoBuy advertises a vacuum service at ¥20 on its own site, read on 6 October 2026, and our KakoBuy page covers its other terms. Down and padded fillings can lose loft if compressed hard, which the sheet and the seller will not tell you.

Treat compression as a question for support, never as a LitBuy feature.

The ¥20 rehearsal parcel as a jacket tape measure

LitBuy's Rehearsal Parcel is a pre-pack: the warehouse packs your items as if shipping, then reports measured weight and dimensions ahead of the shipping payment. The help centre lists a fixed fee of 20 CNY per rehearsal, usually done within 24 hours, with easy cancellation. The interface adds "¥20 per service + material fees", that both fees stay non-refundable after packing, and a full refund if the platform caused the issue. Coupons cannot be used on the rehearsal fee, but a shipping coupon can still apply to the final shipping payment. Lit Prime membership can waive the ¥20.

At ¥1 ≈ €0.12, the fee is about €2.40. For a jacket whose box could land on either side of a quote step, that is the cheapest way to avoid paying for a guess. Our rehearsal parcel page goes through the screens. If your parcel is light and small, skip it.

Pay €2.40 to see the real weight when a jacket sits near a step.

Worked example: a ¥219 windbreaker to Germany

Assume a windbreaker priced at ¥219 (about €26.28), an assumed actual weight of 0.4 kg and an assumed packed box of 35 × 25 × 18 cm. If you only count actual weight, you expect to use the 500 g quote. On an 8,000 divisor line the chargeable weight is 1.97 kg, so the 2,000 g quote applies. The quotes below are LitBuy's list prices, before the new-user promotion, for LIT-Economy-DHL-DE on 19 October 2026. The €2 handling fee is added to EU parcels once LitBuy's cut-off of 14:00 Beijing time on 25 October 2026 has passed; the €3 prepayment is already inside the quotes.

Same windbreaker, what you expect and what you are billed

Windbreaker, ¥219 at ¥1 ≈ €0.12€26.28

Shipping if billed at 0.4 kg (500 g quote)€16.81 ($18.89)

EU handling fee (after 25 Oct)€2.00

Expected total€45.09

Shipping at 1.97 kg (2,000 g quote)€38.75 ($43.53)

EU handling fee€2.00

Billed total€67.03

The sums are €26.28 + €16.81 + €2.00 = €45.09 and €26.28 + €38.75 + €2.00 = €67.03, a gap of €21.94 caused only by the box. You prepay on estimated weight, LitBuy recalculates once the parcel is packed, and you would be asked for the difference with the status "Waiting for Confirmation". The same two weights cost differently elsewhere:

One bulky box turned a €45 order into €67 before any customs question.

Choosing a line for a bulky box

The divisor belongs to the line, so the same box can cost more on one line than another. On 19 October 2026 the EMS line to Germany, HF-EMS-DE, used a 6,000 divisor and was labelled "Duties Payable by Recipient", with a list price of €44.05 ($49.49) at 1,000 g. Our windbreaker box would be billed at 2.63 kg there, and any VAT and duty would be yours to pay on delivery. The tax-free DHL lines used 8,000 and LitBuy handles the import charges on them, so they suit bulky rows better. The LitBuy customs page explains the €3 and €2 EU parcel charges.

Before you add a jacket row, check three things in the estimator: the divisor, the size limit and the tax label of the line you plan to use. If the sheet gives a size chart in centimetres but no box size, ask for a custom photo of the folded item with a tape beside it.

Pick the line by divisor and size limit first, price second.

Winter timing and pairing a jacket with light rows

Winter falls inside the peak season LitBuy mentions. Its Delay Protection option adds 10 business days to its delay thresholds between October and January, which hints at slower peak parcels, though LitBuy does not publish a winter transit table. In the interface's insurance terms, delay compensation is 15% of shipping if delivery exceeds 1.5 times the line's longest promised time. Premiums were not visible in the logged-out estimator. Read the delivery time page before you plan for a cold snap.

Shipping a jacket alone wastes the fixed costs. LitBuy's own help example shows 1,071 yuan for three separate parcels against 645 yuan combined. You could build a box where a jacket shares space with flat items, as long as the combined volume stays below your target step. The clothes page shows how to weigh tees and sets, and our accessories page covers small add-ons. No LitBuy account? Scan the WhatsApp QR on our contact page and ask for a delivered price with photos before dispatch, paid per order.

Fill the box with flat items, or pay for the air around the jacket.

Questions buyers ask

How much does a puffer jacket cost to ship from LitBuy to Germany?

It depends on the packed box, not the label weight. On 19 October 2026 LitBuy's estimator quoted €24.12 for 1,000 g and €38.75 for 2,000 g on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE. A puffer that packs to 45 × 35 × 20 cm is 3.94 kg by volume on an 8,000 divisor, beyond our quotes, so get a rehearsal parcel or run the estimator for that weight.

Does LitBuy vacuum-pack or compress jackets?

LitBuy does not publish a vacuum or compression service in its help centre or interface text we read on 19 October 2026. It lists Packing & Reinforcement, shown at about ¥10 per item plus materials, and a service that removes original packaging. Another agent, KakoBuy, advertises a vacuum service at ¥20 on its own site, read 6 October 2026, but that is not LitBuy.

What does the ¥20 rehearsal parcel cost in euros, and is it worth it for a jacket?

About €2.40 at ¥1 ≈ €0.12. LitBuy packs your items in advance, usually within 24 hours, so you see the measured numbers before paying shipping. For a bulky jacket it is worth it when the box could cross a weight step, as in our example where the gap between quotes is €21.94. Once packed, the fee is gone.

Which delivery line should a jacket use for Germany?

Check the size limit before the price. LIT-Economy-DHL-DE allows 60 × 50 × 40 cm and quoted €24.12 at 1 kg on 19 October 2026; JSF-DHL-DE-1 allows 120 × 60 × 60 cm and quoted €25.84. Both use an 8,000 divisor. XB-DHL-DE-1 allows only 45 × 45 × 35 cm, so a thick puffer may not fit there.

Are winter jackets slower to arrive?

LitBuy does not publish a winter-specific delay, but its Delay Protection option adds 10 business days to the delay limits between October and January for peak season. The estimator showed 10–15 working days for LIT-Economy-DHL-DE on 19 October 2026. Order winter rows early, and remember free storage ends after 90 days per item.

Is it cheaper to send a jacket with other items in one parcel?

Usually yes, because the fixed parts of the fee are paid once. LitBuy's own help example, using illustrative prices, shows three items sent separately costing 1,071 yuan against 645 yuan combined, a saving of 426 yuan. A jacket plus light tees can share one box, as long as the combined volumetric weight does not jump a quote step.
